William and Kate sit across from Harry and Meghan at the Jubilee church service

Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle all attended the National Thanksgiving Service on Friday – but neglected to sit next to each other.

The Duke, 39, and Duchess of Cambridge, 40, took their seats on the right side of St Paul’s Cathedral as they arrived.

The couple sat on the same pew as Princess Anne, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles.

Across the aisle, the Duke, 37, and Duchess of Sussex, 40, sat with Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice and their respective husbands, Jack Brooksbank and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

California residents did not appear to interact with William and Middleton.

Palace insiders told Page Six on Thursday that Charles’ sons have no plans to interact during the celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee festivities.

“At this time, it seems unlikely that Harry and Meghan and William and Kate will meet separately at Jubilee celebrations,” the source said. “There is certainly nothing in the log at the moment.”

The quartet’s last joint public appearance was at Westminster Abbey for Commonwealth service in March 2020, three months after Harry and Markle announced their intention to step back from senior royal duties.

A few days later, the duo moved to America. They now reside in Montecito, Calif., with son Archie, 3, and daughter Lilibet, 11 months, and officially stepped down from royal duties in February 2021.

The family of four traveled to England together for the first time on Tuesday to help honor the 96-year-old Queen’s 70 years of service.

Harry and Markle watched Trooping the Color from the Major General’s office, apparently without their little ones. Archie and Lilibet were also absent from Friday’s church service.

The monarch also missed the traditional Jubilee event. After attending Trooping the Color on Thursday, a royal spokesperson released a statement announcing his upcoming absence.

“The Queen enjoyed the birthday parade and today’s flypast very much, but felt some discomfort,” the statement read.

“Given the travel and activity required to participate in tomorrow’s national service of thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Her Majesty has concluded with great reluctance that she will not be attending,” continued the spokesperson.
