Chief pastor and elders of Ossa Madih Church in Etsi Fawomanye in Ajumako Enyan Essiam district of Central Region had to jump over a fence wall to avoid being arrested by police for getting be delivered to an illegal electrical connection.

A report collected says that the head pastor has illegally hooked up electricity to the church and the mission house for the past five years and failed to pay electricity bills for a year.

His criminal activity came to light when officials from the Electricity Company of Ghana, who were carrying out field work to check for faults in some meters, detected the illegal connection on the church premises.

Speaking in an interview with Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan, Ghana Electricity Company Manager for Ajumako Enyan Essiam District, Maxwell Essel condemned the action of the pastor and his elders, adding that they will be brought to justice. in court when they are arrested.

He said a manhunt was underway to arrest the suspects who are currently in hiding to help Enyan Nkwantanum Police investigate.

Maxwell Essel revealed that there is a task force that checks for illegal power connections in the evenings in the district, thus advising the public to stop illegal connections or be prosecuted.

He noted that bad practice is high in most villages in the district.
