Memorial Day Car Show in Delmont

The fifth annual car show at St. John’s Church in Delmont will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 30.

Featuring cars from the 1920s through today, proceeds from the event will be donated to the PA Hero Walk, the Westmoreland County Food Bank’s Military Share program, Clelian Heights and the Heinz VA Medical Center.

The fee to exhibit a car is $10. The afternoon will feature a DJ, door prizes, a 50/50 raffle and a variety of auction baskets.

‘Chalk the Walk’ in Murrysville

The Murrysville Recreation Department will host its annual “Chalk the Walk” event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 14 at the Murrysville Community Park.

Participants can donate $10 and spend the morning designing their own 4-foot by 4-foot space along a section of the park’s walking path. Chalk will be provided, but participants are also welcome to bring their own.

Kona Ice will be available and Bite by Café 222 will offer sandwiches and bubble tea.

Pre-register online at MurrysvillePArecreation.com. Walk-in registration will be available the day of the event by cash or check only. Proceeds will go to the Park Trails Painting Project, 4056 Wiestertown Road.

Neighborhood Park Encounters

The Murrysville Recreation Department is hosting a series of neighborhood park meetings to get feedback from residents on the future of their local parks. Meetings will take place at 6 p.m. in all parks:

• May 16: Kovalcik Park

• May 17: Bear Hollow Park

• May 24: Chambers Park

• May 31: Pedora Park

East Suburban Citizen Advocacy will host 5K

East Suburban Citizen Advocacy will host its annual “Super Fun Run For Everyone 5K” on June 5 at Export.

Check-in for the 5K, which serves as a fundraiser for the non-profit organization and contributes to its mission to improve the lives of people with disabilities, will be at 8 a.m. via the Westmoreland Heritage Trail access at Export , by the borough’s red caboose. The race will start at 9 a.m.

Service “Strengthening the Thin Blue Line”

The Murrysville Alliance Church will host a law enforcement tribute service, “Strengthening the Thin Blue Line”, at 11 a.m. on May 22.

All members of law enforcement and their families are welcome to attend with the community.
